REPORTS TO: Prevention Services Director

JOB LOCATION: Hybrid working, with off-site work outside of Dublin.

WORKING HOURS *-hour week (with regular
unsocial hours). This position requires a great degree of flexibility
and out of office work is an essential requirement for this position.

CONTRACT: 1-year initial fixed term contract and is subject to funding

PROBATION PERIOD: 6 months

GARDA VETTING: This position requires Garda Vetting

ABOUT PACE:

PACE is a voluntary sector organisation that works in the community
with people with criminal convictions. PACE provides a wide range of
services to support the safe integration of this client group into the
community.

PACE works from a strengths-based approach to address the treatment
and support needs of the target group to support them to develop a
pro-social identity based around their non-offending behaviour.

ABOUT PACE PREVENTION SERVICES

PACE Prevention Services consists of four separate programmes that
work with clients with complex needs who pose a significant risk of
re-offending.

PACE acknowledges the serious harm that some offences cause and
developed the Prevention Services as a constructive, restorative way
to prevent further harm. Therefore, the focus of the Prevention
Services is on managing and reducing the risk of re-offending.

These programmes operate in a desistance framework and are the:

1. Safer Lives Treatment Programme

2. Foothold Floating Support Service

3. CoSA (Circles of Support and Accountability)

4. @ your PACE

ABOUT @ YOUR PACE 

@ your PACE is a new project funded by Irish Prison services to
deliver a volunteer led Group within the Prison setting to facilitate
group work with life sentence prisoners’ to aid their progression
back into the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

* VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT

* Coordinate effective volunteer recruitment campaigns, including
advertising and Volunteer Information Sessions.
* Shortlist volunteer applications
* Coordinate & participate in volunteer interviews

* VOLUNTEER TRAINING

* Coordinate the effective delivery and facilitation @ your PACE
Volunteer training programme
* Liaise with external speakers and facilitators
* Ensuring that all volunteers are fully trained in the @your PACE
practices
* Provide appropriate levels of induction for volunteers

* VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

* Provide appropriate levels of 1:1, group and peer support and
supervision for Volunteers
* Adhere to good practice policies and procedures in volunteer
management
* Ensure that Volunteers adhere to confidentiality, codes of
behaviour and volunteer agreements

* GROUP COORDINATION

* Match selected volunteers and participants
* Facilitate the set-up of groups
* Coordinate and facilitate group reviews
* Provide volunteer Supervision
* Provide a final report to the Irish Prison Service.

* PROJECT COORDINATION

* Represent @ your PACE at external events or conferences were
requested
* Monthly reports to the Prevention Services Director, CEO for the
Board of Management
* Participation in Prevention Services team meetings
* Accurate record-keeping through Salesforce Client Relationship
Management (CRM software)

* ANY OTHER DUTIES AS REASONABLY DESIGNATED BY THE CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

* Strong admin skills

DESIRABLE

* Restorative Justice practice training

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

* Previous co-ordinating experience is essential.
* EXPERIENCE IN managing volunteers.
* Experience of facilitating groups and managing complex meetings
involving clients and professionals
* Experience in developing effective working relationships with
statutory bodies and working in partnership with other agencies is
essential.
* Leadership skills and experience of working as part of a team are
essential.
* An understanding of the needs of ex-offenders and ex-prisoners.
* The ability to communicate sensitive issues to a wide range of
audiences
* An understanding of professional boundaries and the need to
implement and maintain them with vulnerable client groups
* Computer literate.

DESIRABLE

* Experience of providing supervision to volunteers
* Experience in developing & facilitating training programmes
* Knowledge of addiction issues, homelessness and other relevant
factors in offending behaviour
* Experience of and understanding of the principles of restorative
process
* Understanding of the experiences of victims of abuse and the
effects of trauma upon people
* Knowledge and experience of using Salesforce
